Roatan August 2012 |
||
Max and I spent 7 days at the Reef House on the Island of Roatan, Honduras. It was a fantastic trip and we are both very eager to go back. All of the other guests were from Europe and had dived all over the world. They universally agreed that the east side of Roatan is the best diving you can get in the Caribbean. And one of the couples lives in the Bahamas! The guy from Belgium even commented that you have to get to some place like Fiji or Indonesia to find better diving. He had been at the Reef House for 2 weeks and was still loving every dive. If you dive I highly recommend the island of Roatan, and more specifically, the Reef House. I wrote up a review on Trip Adviser. You can read it here if you like. We got in 14 dives in 5 days. We lost one dive to a low category hurricane that went over. We actually did 2 dives during the hurricane but everyone decided to sit out the afternoon dive, much to the disappointment of the dive master. |

All the underwater photos were taken with a Canon Powershot SD780IS Digital Elph in a Canon WP-DC31 underwater housing. The land shots were taken with my Fujifilm HS20 As you view these photos keep in mind that this was my very first every attempt at underwater photography. Considering that I was not only using a small pocket camera, I was also brand new to diving, I'm pretty pleased with the shots I managed to get. |
