The 2016 Zilker Kite Festival

	The Zilker Kite Fetival actually happened this year!!! It go rained out last year, and I belive the year before as well. It was a great day for it. It was a bit overcast early on but by the time I made it down to the park it was about as perfect as you could ask for a kite festival. Plenty of wind, but not too much. Just enough clouds in the sky to make it interesting. Warm, but not hot. And as is always my experience at the kite festival, everyone was in a great mood. No one was getting upset about their kite getting tangled up with someone elses. And even the people I saw that almost got hit, and even the one guy that I saw get hit, by a dive bombing kite didn't complain. It's just part of the event. The only people that seemed to be bothering anyone where the bozos that thought bringing footbals and frisbies into the middle of a massive crowd of people flying kites seemed like a good idea. LOL

I think every person with a camera stood in about this same spot and took this same photo. Good turn out, and every one seemed to be haveing a great time. Perhaps this is what it looked like in the minds of some of these kids. I wonder how many feet, or miles, of string was in the air. If you look carfully you can tell that many of the kites in this shot are actually in trees. There was quite an assorments of styles and colors of kites This was one of my favorites. It's legs moved around alot making it look almost alive. I see this one every time. And I always enjoy it. a 4 kite tangle Tangled but still flying This was interesting. There was someone on the other side of the tent pulling the string in. And looking the other way, I never saw a kite attached to the string. The trees feasted that day another tree And another tree.
