Saturday March 19th I had the pleasure of attending the Holi Festival out at the Radha Madhav Dham Temple. And it was as fantastic as I hoped it would be. This was the second event I've attended there, and once again the people were wonderfully friendly and inviting. The Holi play started around 5pm with a procession of music and dancers that led everyone to the outdoor alter and the area where the Holi play was going to take place. There was a brief period of ceremonial worship at the alter performed by several people with candles on plates. Then they began throwing out bags and bags of the colored poweder. It took only a few minutes before the air was filled with powder and everyone was covered in the most beautiful and vibrant colors. It put my entire Hawaiian print shirt colletion to shame. I left at 7:00, after enjoying a few Mango Lassi's and some delecious food, and the singing and dancing was still going strong. I wish I could have stayed for the bonfire but unfortunatly I had other plans. I'll just have to alot more time to the event next year.
